課程概述

This is a project-oriented design course for senior year undergraduate and graduate students in electrical engineering and computer science majors. It requires minimal background.

Major topics covered in this course are as follows:
1. Systems Level Design (SLD) Overview
2. Models of Computation in Co-design
3. Hardware/Software Co-design Architectures and Specification Languages
4. Function-Architecture Co-design
5. System Level Design with System C
6. Architecture Synthesis and System Partitioning
7. Platform-based SoC System Co-design
8. On-Chip Bus and Network on Chip
9. Case Study: Cognitive Radio Front-end and Baseband, and H.264 Motion Estimation (ME)
10. Simulation and Verification
 

課程目標
This course surveys embedded micro-architecture and design methodologies for multimedia signal processing. The emphasis is on the mapping of signal processing algorithms onto an existing SoC platform to support real time processing of multimedia algorithms. 
課程要求
預修科目: Programming language in C, C++, or knowledge of Verilog
成績評量方式: 5-6 weekly homework assignments 30%, Final Report 30%, Individual design project 40%.
